Ghana’s biggest music award show, Vodafone Ghana Music Awards now Telecel Ghana Music Awards came off on Saturday, June 1st, 2024 at the Grand Arena Of the International Conference Centre[AICC].
This is the 25th edition of the award show, which has awarded Ghana musicians for their hard work in the Ghanaian music space of the year under review.
At the end of the award show, Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy was crowned “Artist of the Year”.
Despite facing formidable competition from fellow Ghanaian music luminaries such as Kuami Eugene, King Promise, Sarkodie, Nacee, and Black Sherif, the “Into The Future” hitmaker ultimately won the night’s most prestigious award.
This victory marked Stonebwoy’s second time receiving the prestigious Artist of the Year accolade, solidifying his position as a dominant force in Ghana’s music scene.
With an impressive eleven nominations, Stonebwoy secured wins in six categories, making him the highest achiever of the evening.
His wins included:
– Artist of the Year
– Album of the Year
– Record of the Year
– Songwriter of the Year
– International Collaboration of the Year
– Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the Year
Stonebwoy now joins Sarkodie as one of only two artists to have claimed the prestigious Artist of the Year title twice since its establishment in 1999.
