Houston Mayor declares July 7th “Davido Day”.

In a momentous declaration that resonates with the vibrant Afrobeat music scene, the city of Houston, USA, has officially proclaimed July 7th as “Davido Day.”

This landmark recognition honors the exceptional contributions of Nigerian superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, to the world of music and the cultural tapestry of the United States.

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner issued the proclamation in a statement released on Friday in Houston, Texas.

He declared, “I, Sylvester Turner, Mayor of the city of Houston, do hereby proclaim July 7, 2023, as Davido Day.”

The Mayor issued the proclamation following Davido’s sold-out performance at Houston’s iconic Toyota Center.

Davido’s infectious melodies, infectious rhythms, and dynamic stage presence have captivated audiences globally, transcending borders and uniting diverse communities.
