Kant10t: “Big Meech”

This dancehall newcomer is making waves with breakout singles like “Born Choppa” and “2 Phone,” which blend a piano-driven sound reminiscent of Atlanta and Baton Rouge’s pain rap scenes with the walloping percussion and twisting melodies of his hometown of Kingston.

But it’s “Big Meech” that really stands out as Kant10t’s best work yet. This track shows off his signature flow and improvisational style, as he seamlessly switches paces and busts out soaring riffs while still maintaining a dark and moody vibe. In some ways, it’s similar to how rappers like NoCap and YoungBoy can take their melodies off the rails while still maintaining a serious tone.

With so many artists releasing new music at a rapid pace, it can be tough for even the most dedicated hip-hop fans to keep up.  So next time you’re winding down a wild night out, turn up the volume and let his beats carry you home.
